Navajo Kachinas are individually handcrafted and handpainted with a unique eye and artistic style thereby holding a beauty of their own. Unlike Hopi Kachinas, these versions are least expensive and equally fascinating. The Crow Mother Kachina or Angwusnasomtaqa is believed by many Hopi to be the mother of all Kachinas. During Powamu, she leads other Kachinas into the village, bearing in her arms a basket of corn kernels and bean sprouts to signify the start of a prosperous season.
