This Crow Mother and Crow Father Katsina Sculpture is an exceptional masterpiece by Hopi artisans, Valjean and Gene Lalo. The Crow Man (Angwus Katsina) is a warrior who makes arguments with the clowns during Plaza Dances. The Crow Mother (Angwusnasomtaka) is considered to be the Mother of all Katsinam, appearing during the Bean Dance on all three Mesas. She supervises the initiation of children into the Katsina society and leads villagers into the start of the new growing season.
