Ever wondered where the famous phrase "Bury the Hatchet" came from? This traditional-style brass hatchet with heart cut-out is the answer. This tomahawk was often present during war talks. If the talks went well, the pipe would be smoked and passed along as a symbol of peace. After which, it would be taken out and buried, thus the term, "Bury the hatchet". If talks didn't go well, hearts would bleed. Hence the weeping heart cutout. This exceptional piece is intricately made with its rich and traditional Native American design. Beads and feathers will vary. Certificate of Authenticity included.
