• Description

This small beautiful and carved seed pot was created by Laguna potter Sue Tapia. In the fall the women would take the seeds for the next spring and place them in these pots and then stack them. These pots would be placed in the corner of the home, stacked so the bottom of each pot would seal off the one below it. This storage technique would save space and keep rodents from ruining their seed crop. Thue pot is deeply carved with geometric lines and the bottom half is stone polished.
