Mata Ortiz Handbuilt Pot in a Pot by Fito Tena

This unusual pot-in-a-pot creation was created by Mata Ortiz resident Fito Tena. Its 'tejido' (textured) style is an ancient technique, bearing an appearance like corrugated pottery. Inside the beautiful white pot with keyhole designs is anothersmaller pot that is black, also bearing the textured style with keyhole designs. The interior pot was handbuilt and the exterior pot built around it. What a beautiful and impressive feat! Pottery ring included for display.
